Dianabol is the name for the oral steroid methandrostenolone. It is a derivative of testosterone which exhibits strong anabolic and moderate androgenic properties. Dianabol was first made available in the 60’s and it quickly became a favored and widely used anabolic steroid.
Dianabol is a strong steroid compound capable of producing enormous gains in muscle mass. It is also one of the first steroid compounds used. Side effects from methandrostenolone use are moderate to high and although it can be liver toxic in high doses. Dianabol is often used by body builders and athletes at the front end of a cycle to kick start muscle gains or to bridge between cycles.
Dianabol is a potent steroid which brings about noticeable side effects. Methandrostenolone is quite estrogenic in activity and gynecomastia is often a concern during treatment which can occur early on into a cycle. Water retention can also be a problem by resulting in a notable loss of muscle definition as both subcutaneous water and fat build up in and around the muscle. It is advisable to keep estrogen in check with an anti-estrogen such as Nolvadex and/or Proviron. Arimidex, Femara, or Aromasin (anti-aromatase) would be a better choice.
The dosage for men of 20-40mg is sufficient for dramatic results. Higher dosages have been noted, but this usually leads to an increase in rate of side effects. Methandrostenolone is a c17 alpha alkylated anabolic steroid. This protects it from deactivation by the liver (which allows nearly all of the drug to enter into the bloodstream and be utilized by the body), however it can also be extremely toxic to the liver in high dosages.
